Glass Walls & Partitions

“Design should never say, “Look at me!” It should always say, “Look at this!” .— David Craib

Let there be Light!

EuroSteel creates stunning exterior glass walls that can provide a home or office with dramatic views. A wall of glass brings the expansive atmosphere of light and the vibrant colors from outside – inside. Exterior glass walls typically include both fixed and opening windows, as well as your choice of swing, sliding or multifold doors. Glass walls not only look spectacular from the outside, but they have a positive effect on the health and mood of those who enjoy them from inside. With EuroSteel technology providing high density gas filled IGU’s and specialized coatings, you can maintain a comfortable environment in any climate zone, without incurring high energy bills. Such walls of Light can be installed around chimneys or other architectural features. With minimal frames and oversized glass installations, you can build walls of light as big as your vision.

Noise Reduction

In the modern home and office, it has become imperative that outside noise is kept out. We are able to provide enhanced sound transmission control for a more peaceful interior space. If your building is adjacent to a noisy street, it is well worth the additional cost to use specially constructed glass windows and doors to minimize noise. By laminating two dissimilar thicknesses of glass panes together with a sound dampening polymer (PVB) interlayer, we can cut sound vibrations in half. The visual quality of the glass is not affected but this system significantly reduces sound transmission. In addition, our exterior doors and opening windows have perimeter seals that effectively control “flanking” – or sound passing around the perimeter. These combined technologies achieve minimal STC ratings of 40-45 or the equivalent of two layers of dry wall. If greater sound control is desired, additional measures can be taken and one of our engineers will work with you to meet your specific needs. Divided Lites

Fixed glass walls, as well as swing, folding or sliding doors can be made more visible with the use of Divided Lites that separate a window into smaller squares or rectangles. In old English homes, when glass was only available in small sizes, several panes had to be fitted together to create a window. Many modern homes adopt that same look but it is usually False Divided Lites (FDL). In this case the window is made from a single IGU with muntin bars inside, outside and between the glass panes. FDL muntins are usually a half inch wide, they are attractive without being obstructive and do not interfere with the insulation ratings. With True Divided Lites (TDL) a window is literally made from multiple IGU’s. Because of structural and thermal requirements, TDL muntins have to be 1.5 inches wide, making them a less popular choice.

Glazing Choices

We offer a wide range of glazing options to meet your insulation needs, including dual or triple pane units fill with either argon or krypton gas, and a choice of Low E and solar control glass. We also offer impact resistant systems to meet HVHZ (hurricane) zone requirements and improve sound proofing. Your project manager will help you tailor your glazing choice to perfectly suit your climate zone, window orientation and design aesthetics. See more about EuroSteel glazing.
